Speaking of moderate Republicans,

a FB friend of mine who currently lives in DC posted the following to his wall today:

At the birthday lunch of a mutual friend, had a lovely chat with former Republican US Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana. When asking what he thought of the state of his party, he had me at "crazy fucks."

Bwa-ha-ha. He swears it's true.

I mean there might be one or two still, or maybe a few more in state legislaturs in blue states - but not many.

NARL and a 0% from the HRC. He got a 11% from NAACP and an 8% from AFL CIO. Not sure about where he 'sat' but he sure as fuck voted like a right wing Republican on all matters, including the Iraq War.

dominating Bush Juniors team as "a bunch of right-wing kooks." Keep in mind that Gen. Scowcroft was no liberal - he was a hard-nosed old Reaganite conservative - And considering that they are a lot crazier now than they were even in the Bush Junior days only a few years ago.
