Ted (Pray the Sane Away) Cruz is saying "Being up here for the past eighteen hours defending America against the evils of Obamacare has made me better appreciate American sacrifices of the past. . . . I now feel that I can fully understand what it was to have been a soldier at Iwo Jima facing wave after wave of Japanese suicide attacks, or a Marine at Khe Sahn seeing his best buddy blown up before him, or an Army Sergeant fighting the Germans at the Battle of the Bulge even after his leg was blown off and he knew he was going to die. . . . And all I can say is I'm proud as hell to join their ranks!!!"

(2,135 posts)was a Sergeant in the US Army and fought back the Germans and their Ardennes Offensive. He may not have had his legs blown off (he did have his ears blown out by arty, though) but he was more of a hero that Ted Cruz ever could be. Fuck you, Cruz. Fuck you.

(19,359 posts)with my future political ambitions: It most certainly does not! . . . I don't even think that way! . . . I'm doing this because of the will of the people, who I'm in contact with daily, hourly! . . . And not just Texas but all the American people! . . . Why in November I'm planning to spend a week in Iowa and then one in New Hampshire."
