22-year-old Christopher Philmon was arrested in Houston Monday after police say he stabbed to death his uncle, 50-year-old Roy James Philmon, and then stole his victim's car, kidnapped his girlfriend and fled to Houston. Police say he confessed to his girlfriend that he stabbed his uncle, and his girlfriend told police after he let her go in Houston. He is now charged with murder and kidnapping.
Chris Philmon's family told 12News Monday he suffered from schizophrenia.

(37,305 posts)1. When will we realize schizophrenic people hearing voices need to be taken care of by the government?
Maybe they aren't all dangerous, but enough are that an untreated schizophrenic is a potential problem to public safety. And no they don't need guns to be that way.
This is the one mental health diagnosis we need to be extremely aware of.

But really it must be a nightmare of an existence. To be so tricked by your mind that you sometimes feel compelled to kill people...I can't imagine how horrid things must be.

it will be easier for many people to get their medications.
