One man has the most powerful nation in the world at a standstill.
Boehner.
One man. He could call a vote on the budget. He could resign.
Is he doing this out of pride, addiction, or naked fear?
He's causing so much misery.
One man.

that's why it's all at the hand of one man.
Either stubborn, addled by alcohol, or blackmailed.

(13,390 posts)The weird thing is Boehner doesn't have a strong presence. I think he must be a puppet maybe of the Paul's? Those 2 have seemed to immensely enjoy the idea of a shutdown beforehand.
It is beginning to look like there are some republican reps. who are not happy with the tea party stranglehold.
Someone was talking about Ross Perot and how republicans ignored him for the most part. If they had embraced him, they might have had a similar mess on their hands then. They screwed up, and since some of them are actually in office they won't be able to undo the damage for awhile. I wonder if it has anything to do with ODS?
I keep hoping that some kind of rational political dialogue will surface soon and republicans will have no way to duck and escape responsibility.
