Can John Boehner be trusted to keep his word??

He has said that he will not permit a default on our debt limit. If that were to happen, many experts and economists say that it could be catastrophic.

So what is he waiting on? Why doesn't he put it up for a vote immediately? What is he trying to prove? Let him put his money where his mouth is...

And he did not say HOW he would not permit a default - he probably means to do that by refusing to budge until Obama gives in.

Wrapped around a Koch or two.

Note to the overly sensitive: this is about Boner/Kochs and nothing else.

Reid to CNN: Boehner’s ‘job is not as important as our country’

Washington (CNN) – In an interview with CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid accused House Speaker John Boehner of being more worried about his job than the country amid a government shutdown.

The Nevada Democrat also talked for the first time Thursday about Boehner reneging on an agreement between the two over a “clean” spending bill, and admitted he directed his chief of staff to leak embarrassing e-mails that they say indicate Boehner changed his position on Obamacare subsidies for Congress.

Reid also followed up on his controversial comments from Wednesday, when he took issue with the idea that the Senate should vote to fund clinical trials for cancer patients at the National Institutes of Health during the shutdown.

In the interview, Reid criticized Boehner for bowing to a conservative faction of his caucus that insists on attaching anti-Obamacare provisions to a temporary spending bill needed to fund the government.

“His job is not as important as our country,” Reid said.

12. No he can not be trusted and I don't think he has even said such a thing publicly

The story I saw quoted an anonymous Republican Congress member saying that Boehner said he would not default, but I don't think Boehner himself has ever such a thing publicly. We can't trust Boehner and I have even less trust in the anonymous Republican reporting what Boehner may have said behind closed doors.

Start with the premise all politicians lie. In fact, Reid accused Boehner of that in the last couple of days.

We know many of the big donors to the Republicans want to remake this Country into the image they desire. If the economy goes down, it will be catastrophic. Republicans will blame Obama and the politics from hereon will just get uglier until 2016. In the meantime, the Federal Government might literally not have the funds to continue programs Republicans want to kill anyway -- Social Security, unemployment, Medicare, Obamacare, you know the list.

They manipulated the 2000 election and Bush* got into the Oval Office. In 2004, 25 percent of the vote in Ohio was "dropped" and he got a second term. They screwed up their mechanics in 2008 and additionally Bush* tanked the economy so a Democrat got to slip in. But they are back to their dirty tricks now and if they can manipulate a win in 2016, when they take over, they can formally repeal The Social Security Act, Medicare, unemployment, Obamacare, food stamps -- all of the things they want to get rid of anyway. They already took care of the Voting Rights Act, so scratch that off the To Do List. It is done. And they have their Corporate donations lined up - the Supreme Court took that one.

Does anyone really think Republicans would not lie to get what they want after what they did in 2000 and 2004? This ultra-right wants to take over and they really do not have what they have to do to accomplish that.

Just my opinion....

Sam
