Branson’s Shepherd of the Hills outdoor drama shuts for good after 54 seasons, blames ACA

Source: Kansas City Star

BRANSON, Mo. — After 54 seasons in Branson, the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre will end its outdoor drama with a final performance on Oct. 19.

In a statement released Wednesday, the owners of the business cited rising insurance and production costs, declining crowds, and costs associated with the new federal health care law.

Officials with Shepherd of the Hills did not return calls seeking comment on the closure and the impact of the Affordable Care Act on their business.

They seem to be catering to baby boomers since has-beens from the 60s and 70s are now doing shows there. It's still Las Vegas run by Ned Flanders though. Britney will have a theater in Branson 30 years from now.

Like never before. We have people alive today who remember lynchings of African Americans living along side children who were born under the first African American President. We've come a long way. An inevitable tide of social liberalism is sweeping across our nation and generation and the Old world is going out gnashing and gnawing and snarling with bitterness and ignorance.
