Marsha Blackman (R) TN was just on MSNBC talking about out-of-control spending so,

if deficits are dropping how can there still be out-of-control spending? And when will anyone on TV call them out on this? Or, do Republicans ever think that spending is in control? I don't have to answer that.

Plus the well-known conservative Clinton was the last President I can remember to balance the budget.

Good thing they can't actually absorb facts contrary to their beliefs or we would have heads exploding all around us.

This shutdown has been a losing proposition for them, but they don't know how to get out of it, so they're going to throw increasingly weird stuff at the wall, hoping someone will focus on the shiny.

It doesn't matter whether they're true or not. On rare occasions someone in the "liberal" media will call them out on their lies. The corporate media bears a great deal of responsibility for the state of the nation because they rarely do their job.

These guys don't have anything to harp about if spending is under control. Maybe that is why they are wrecking the economy (and the tax base).

People are getting SNAP, people are getting Pell grants, people are getting Social Security and Medicare. As long as those people are getting benefits, then there is way too much spending.

Even if some of THOSE people are white Republicans, it makes no difference, because THOSE people are still TAKING from the people at the top.

about the debt yesterday because he is all for the Repubs not increasing the debt limit. He kept saying that the government should not buy on credit, etc. He was also bragging that he didn't buy more than he could afford.

Then I asked him if he had a mortgage on his house. He shut up.

ANY spending is too much for this nasty-ass piece of work. Unless it's DOD spending or for corporate welfare.

As for when anyone on TV will call her or her ilk out on that, unless one of them appear on the shows hosted by Rachel, Ed, Thom Hartmann, etc., it won't happen. And, NONE of them have the courage to appear with these hosts.

I totally agree with the Republicans on this. I just don't agree with how and where our money should be spent. I would like to cut Defense Spending in half and the same for CIA and all the BLACK spending. I want more spending on the Nation, such as schools and roads and bridges, and airports and harbors and...well you get the picture. I still would like for us to stay within Budget and NEVER have Deficit Spending again.

There was even a post here mentioning something like:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023758143
"Since everyone is well aware that our deficit, which has been cut in half still results in the debt growing"

Which makes no frickin sense to me.

They talk about out of control spending, but they only take it from the most vulnerable.
It is idiotic.
