Total PR move, but I'll bet it was a pleasant conversation that left the ranger feeling even better.

That they were the guys who wouldn't touch Social Security. That was his thing: hands off Social Security.

Then once they had won, they didn't even wait until being sworn in before putting Chained CPI on the table.

To suggest that he is a stand up guy is as ludicrous as claiming that Sarah Palin belongs in Mensa.

I suppose should have known better, but I have always thought that he was one of very few men with real integrity in Washington. I was wrong.

But I have a long memory, and I will point out this massive lie every time it comes up.

Nothing has changed since they have been in office in regards to SS. Saying you are open to something and doing it are two entirely different things one is a negotiating tactic and the other is actual action.

When it actually happens it will become a lie.

Having said that Joes web page is still up and SS isnt even mentioned on it so I would say the lie here is that it was his biggest position.

Or Db. They're pretty much the same, sort of. If you're using a tempered scale, as most of us do, they're the same note. You might try a fifth above that note as an alternative now and then. Then, move down a full step from the fifth and return to the original note. It's like a tune, complete in itself.

Single notes are boring. Don't be a "Johnny One Note."

Johnny could only sing one note
And the note he sings was this
Ah!

Poor Johnny one-note
sang out with "gusto"
And just overlorded the place
Poor Johnny one-note
yelled willy nilly
Until he was bleu in the face
For holding one note was his ace

Couldn’t hear the brass
Couldn’t hear the drum
He was in a class
By himself, by gum!

Poor Johnny one-note
Got in Aida
Indeed a great chance to be brave
He took his one note
Howled like the North Wind
Brought forth wind that made critics rave,
While Verdi turned round in his grave!

Couldn’t hear the flute
Or the big trombone
Ev’ry one was mute
Johnny stood alone.

Cats and dogs stopped yapping
Lions in the zoo
All were jealous of Johnny's big trill
Thunder claps stopped clapping,
Traffic ceased its roar,
And they tell us Niag’ra stood still.
He stopped the train whistles,
Boat whistles,
steam whistles,
Cop whistles,
all whistles bowed to his skill

Sing Johnny One-Note,
Sing out with "gusto" and
Just overwhelm all the crowd
Ah!
So sing Johnny One-Note, out loud!!
Sing Johnny One-Note
Sing Johnny One-Note out loud!

Cause you are sure as hell lying about Bidens position on SS.

Here he is in the presidential debates during the primaries and his answer doesnt come close to your made up postion for him.

Senator Biden, in order to prevent that, would you be willing to consider certain steps? For example, back in 1983, Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill, Patrick Moynihan and Bob Dole got together and changed the retirement age. It's going to be going up to 67 in a gradual increase.
Right now, you pay tax for Social Security on your first $97,500 worth of income.
Why not tax the entire income of every American? And if you do that, you'll guarantee the solvency of social security farther than I can see.

Biden: The answer is yes. I'm probably the only one up here who's going to say that, but the truth of the matter is, you stated it. You're either going to cut benefits, or you're going to go ahead and raise taxes above the first $97,000.
And, by the way, I was in that room with Pat Moynihan. It was Joe Biden, Pat Moynihan, Bob Dole -- it was also George Mitchell -- when we made that deal. And I'll never forget Bob Dole turning to Pat Moynihan and saying, "We all got to jump in this boat at the same time."
So the bottom line here is, you can't do it by growing the economy alone. So I would raise the cap.

Russert: Would you also, considering now life expectancy is 78, considering -- consider gradually raising the retirement age?

Biden: We did that one -- I supported that; that's what got it solvent to 2041. By simply going and taking -- raising the cap, you can solve the problem.
