"Gone With The Wind" - "Frankly My Dear I Don't Give A Damn".

I had a post removed recently where I went deliberately over the top. I said those things because I am tired of this endless fight and we always seem to back down while we are being pummeled. We need to show tolerance and a good heart in crises, but I do not see people who vote for the other side acting in good faith. When I hear GOPPERS say that the shut down is a slow down and is not that bad and no one is hurt, I really get mad. My sense is that these same people will not help us.

I found out a couple of things. One thing I learned from my rebuff is the there are a lot of DU'ers who deep down have a good heart. And I laud those individuals who would even save a viper that fatally bites you the instant it is are safe. That is truly a rare and laudable thing.

Then I got to thinking about the shut down and how it is effecting the country. Now FEMA is being activated for parts of the central southern states where the tropical storm will hit. I agree that that is the proper thing we should do. Obama is doing the right thing. Yet most of those same southerners want him gone, they hate him with intense passion. A significant number of their Congressional reps support this shutdown as do every GOPPER. They will impeach Obama given the chance.

When funding came up for Sandy a lot of those same GOPPERS voted against it or wanted an offset. Yet I hear no Democrat demanding an offset or complaining that we are sending FEMA down to that area to help if necessary. We will be probably protecting districts of the same reps who want Obama gone, hate Democrats and would not lift a finger to help in a Dem area.

Now GOPPERS want to piecemeal funding what they want and probably not funding people or areas who do not support them. They want it both ways. They demand what they want for them and statistically these southern states get more back from the feds then they ever give, yet they want and support funding cuts as long as it does not hurt them.

I am not so crass that I really would not help another actually. Then again where do we draw the line in this dysfunctional relationship. The country is being further balkanized and divided and the gerrymandered districts could end all this by voting differently in 2014, but they probably won't and will still want ACA abolished.. Some of these teabagger GOPPERS won by so many points they can commit murder would even beat Jesus.

It is like Rhett Butler in the movie "Gone With The Wind". After all the years trying to save the relationship he finally had had enough. And in the the end he said, "Scarlett quite frankly I just don"t give a damn."

So I was chastised. Rightly so. But how do you change anyone when a party is celebrating and drinking while they are intent on possibly destroying the country. And when their constituents are threatened they expect you to make an exception for them and abandon your own kin first.

We are at the point where we will no longer have a country if such dysfunctional behavior is allowed to continue. The fact that what is going on is even allowed and not loudly challenged makes you really wonder if the US is gone already.

Look at Katrina and what Bush and the GOP did because there were too many Blacks in the area. We all put money into that area. They hate Obama and want to see him gone. And many of us will pay taxes to support an expanded Medicaid program and ACA and they put GOPPERS in who want to take away ALL their health care.

And I am by no means a Republican. It is upsetting to me when people say things like "just let them all drown" because frankly, I went through Katrina and you can't even imagine what it was like here.

Each time your repulsive attacks on those suffering have been called out by other DUers, including multiple members affected THEMSELVES by these disasters. I was one of them, but there were many more. It was hateful and hurtful.

Yet, you do not learn. Your hatred and punitive desires toward RWers has extended over into hatred for Dems/Libs/Progressives suffering in the same areas.

Enough! Time for admins to take notice if you are not going to change your ways.
