what they were doing was - it wasn't slowing people down, and it was just pissing everyone off.

He wanted people to be safe - I felt I was being scammed because the speed on the same road changed three times in less than two miles and no, the five mile difference didn't feel like "safety" but "revenue generation". (Yup, I'm cynical, and yes, I thought I was still in the 45 section, not the 40.)

The police officer was very nice; we ended up talking about his family, and I was able to pass on some useful information regarding a preemie situation. His courtesy was much appreciated.

And yes, I still paid the ticket.

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, the 'bad cops' are often the ones who get the attention. So nice to see some good news about our law enforcement, and major kudos to this officer.

I dont know how he and his staff finds them, but they're always feel-good stories like this one. And what the cop said about "I'm not up "here", I'm right here with you". SO TRUE about so many cops. They're on a power trip. Thank goodness for this one.

was in Irvine on my bicycle.

Man did the cop have an attitude.

I argued the ticket and lowered the fine from $280 to $5 plus
court costs.

They are doing better at training and such - some cops realize it will go more smoothly if they don't act judgmental, bossy or made themselves. Nobody's perfect.

from cops who have pulled me over for speeding 3 times, and I know I was guilty as hell, but only one gave me a ticket, the other two only warnings. And once I was stopped for running a red light. But he only gave me a ticket for not having proof of insurance. I had it but couldn't find it in my wallet.

And this is in Georgia.
