The media and even many here write that Boehner “is being controlled by the tea party or is afraid

to be primaried or afraid to lose his speakership” or that “he won’t let a credit default happen” or claim that he really cares but “the crazies” are making him do what he is doing.. IMO, he is now the leader of the crazy far-right and has the same goals as any of the teabaggers-to crash the government and the economy with a default and then blame the President. He is doing what he believes is right.

He's their leader because he's forsaken his position as his constituent's leader, but he's also their slave for caving in to their demands.

He needs to go.

I do wonder if he were to resign Democrats and some almost sane Republicans could replace him with a mutually agreed on choice? After 2014 the modern majority party rules might return.

And has already drawn a tea party challenger for this one. I think has fear is more immediate. Eric Cantor keeps a sharp knife for Boehner's back.
