Conservative Nutbag Mark Levin Threatens Memorial Park Employees! (Video)

This Wednesday, radio host Mark Levin chose to threaten the President and the National Park Service over the closing of the WWII memorial. He was appealing to people’s emotions knowing that the “Greatest Generation” is a hot button that will work on both liberals and conservatives.

“I’ll be damned if one president, with his feet up on the desk in the oval office, with a smirk on his face, looking at his golf card…I’ll be damned if this president or anybody else is going to shut down that WWII memorial. Period! These men are in their 80s and 90s,” Levin said. He also threatened to bring half a million people to D.C. and to take care of anyone who laid, “one hand on one of those men and arrest them for going to their memorial.” This, of course, ignores the fact that no one has been arrested. In fact the group that arrived on Tuesday from Mississippi was unmolested when they pulled the barriers out of the way and entered.

The truth is that the President never ordered the memorial to be closed. It is a standard procedure established by the Park Service long before he was President and this is the same contingency plan that they operated under when the government shut down twice in 1995 and 1996. The plan states:

Effective immediately [in the event of a government shutdown], the National Park Service will take all necessary steps to close and secure national park facilities and grounds. Day use visitors will be instructed to leave the park immediately. … Wherever possible, park roads will be closed and access will be denied. National and regional offices and support centers will be closed and secured, except where they are needed to support excepted personnel. These steps will be enacted as quickly as possible while still ensuring visitor and employee safety as well as the integrity of park resources.

Unfortunately, Levin’s listeners do not care about facts any more than he does.

reckless, virulent, and disgusting

It's this kind of rhetoric that fires up the Teahadists.

That's all we need, thousands of gullible, hate-filled, enraged, armed Teahadists taking up this scumbag's call.

Seriously, he makes nails on a chalkboard sound like Mozart. I can't believe people actually listen to him just because how his voice sounds, let alone his actual dumbass opinions.

Congressman Confronts Park Ranger Over Closed WWII Memorial

By Mark Segraves
Thursday, Oct 3, 2013

Conflict over the responsibility for the government shutdown got personal at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Wednesday when a member of Congress confronted a U.S. Park Service Ranger over access to the closed park land.

The congressman was Randy Neugebauer, a Republican representing Texas. He confronted the ranger in the middle of a crowd of tourists as she was keeping most of the public out of the closed World War II memorial.

The Park Service has been allowing World War II vets who have traveled from all over the country to enter the memorial, even though it's closed during the government shutdown; the rangers say they are exercising their First Amendment rights as they let the veterans in.

But they are keeping the rest of the public out of the facility, which is officially closed. And that did not sit well with the congressman, reported News4's Mark Segraves, who witnessed the confrontation.
