The Stupidity, It Burns! NPR Interview with Tea Party Activist from Tea Party Patriots

Did anybody else catch this interview this morning on NPR?

A Tea Party congressman is in the spotlight for confronting a park ranger at the closed World War II memorial this week, saying the ranger should be ashamed (...).

We hear from a Tea Party organizer who asks, if furloughed government workers are considered non-essential, why do we need them at all?

She wants Democrats to negotiate with Republicans to re-open the government, and she wants Republicans to hold firm on delaying or defunding the Affordable Care Act.

Guest: Diana Reimer, national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots.

Listen at link: (6 mins, 16 secs) (I'll try to find a written transcript, too)

Make sure to listen toward the end, when the two discuss non-essential Federal workers.

This is who we're dealing with, folks!

This one should have been standing in front of the essential capitol police who are essential but not getting paid and then she may become essential, unbelievable. And Congrss are supposed to be the smart ones.

I came in on the end of it and was shushed for talking during the interview as SWMBO wanted to hear who the nitwit was. She is dumber then Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer, and that is just downright scary.

That means you would have to ask them questions like.

Reporter: Do you understand why monuments are closed?
republican: No, they are for veterans and my shiny object talking point.
Reporter: But what about vandalism?
republican: That's why they should have protection.
Reporter: Do you know that it is government that protects them?
republican: Well government is yuck every where.

BuddaBingBuddaBoom, suddenly you find yourself trying to explain facts to a creature that lives in an alternate reality and has little birdies and stars floating around their head.

When asked how she felt about those out of work, she says she hadn't given it much thought. And therein lies the problem with the teaparty.
