This "piecemeal" legislation by the Republicans is a huge blunder.

Simply because they are throwing so many Americans overboard as they pick and choose who they want to support. Even if the Democrats decided to vote for the "piecemeal" legislation, the people see who is choosing to vote for some veterans, for some programs in the NIH, for FEMA, for opening parks and memorials, but they also see who they are leaving behind. And that is their monstrous blunder.

They are deserting millions and millions of Americans in their quest to shut down the government and to kill Obamacare. They are making enemies they never knew they had. It hard to imagine how they could have done more to piss off the American people? This is the epitome of stupidity.

Never interfere with the enemy when he is destroying himself. Republicans are alienating more and more Americans with each tick of the clock...

won't let them. It may prove to be a blunder. We will know in 2014. But it is no mistake.

the folks that are affected by this shutdown, and there are millions, are keeping score. They see that the Republicans are picking and choosing and they are not being chosen. This is a personal matter with these folks. That is why the Republicans are losing this issue. They have no empathy.

Once they have caused enough people and the economy to suffer, they will put forward the CR and then go back to doing what they were sent there to do.

Why they literally hail from another country. These districts also went for Romney overwhelming. FYI, there are a few dem districts that are also as heavily gerrymandered. This should be a wake up call for this process.

It is those other districts that are not gerrymandered in such a way that present a problem for the Republicans. Also, even in those "safe" districts, they could alienate enough voters to make some of the elections very close.

Not their left. They do not fear the general. In reality most districts should be +1 or 2 to either side, in other words swing districts. 97% of all districts! iiirc it is that high, are not competitive.

14. Their outrage over the WWII memorial being closed is an even bigger blunder

Every time they go on television and demand the WWII memorial be reopened they remind everyone that they were the ones that closed it in the first place. I just can't believe how collectively stupid their party is.
