"Government in bad, government is the problem. Shut it down."

"Liberals love government. Let's make Liberals cry. Shut it down."

That's as far as the thought process went.

Has anyone here met up with a Conservative who knows you are a Liberal and had them gloat and expect you to cry?

I have, and they're really confused as to why I'm laughing at them.

but I've definitely lost a few conservative friends on Facebook over the past couple of years. I don't even post political memes but I definitely will post something occasionally on women's rights or like a politician if they really impress me (those are few and far between but I liked Wendy Davis' page recently for example).

They all seem to have that George Bush simpleton view of "you're with us or against us" and they are not willing to even entertain the idea that they might be wrong about something. These are old friends I grew up with and would just like to remember the old times and see pics of their kids etc. They can't even handle that.

Funny thing is, I don't feel like gloating when they've been proven wrong.

I feel kinda bad for them. Like sorry for them...really.

And the needless suffering of the poor here.

Poor, hell, we had a window where there were tons of construction workers fresh off of job sites and the Republicans acted like having them rebuild bridges before they fall is Communism.
