Jon Stewart kisses O'Reilly's ass, but browbeats Sibelius over ACA

When O'Reilly was on Daily Show last week, Jon doesn't press him at all
on his bullsh*t. Just watched Monday's Daily Show with Sibelius and Stewart
was like a dog with a bone about why businesses get exemptions but individuals do not get exemptions
on ACA. I thought she attempted to explain the why and wherefores but
he would not let up. He went on and on and on and on, then asked about why isn't there Single Payer. Why doesn't he ask any repugnantcans why there isn't Single Payer. I have never seen him push a point
incessantly with any repugnantcans. Makes me wonder if O'Reilly gave him his talking point.
Another reason I prefer Colbert over DS.

1. I watched that interview...

And I was a little surprised at Jon's persistence on the subject, but I'll tell you something.

O'Reilly is a stooge. Pressing O'Reilly on the issues is like pressing Ronald McDonald on the nutritional value of a Big Mac. Who gives a shit what O'Reilly thinks or why?

I sort of like the fact that one of "our people" is willing to press "our people" in the Obama Administration on the issues. Jon was never disrespectful, but he was persistent in trying to get an answer that made sense. Sad proof that a comedian is seriously one of the best journalists on television.

payer, well mr. stewart, it is because single payer would not have passed at the time, and it was better to have something than nothing.

If the Democrats by some miracle ended up with both houses of Congress, it may become a reality

Isn't this government shutdown largely a result of Republicans trying to get the ACA repealed?

No wonder there's such confusion over the ACA. D*mn. She should have been better prepared. JMHO.

The reason that businesses were allowed a one year extension is that the extensions was not a one year exemption, they are already required to cover their employees.

It wasn't a one year exemption, it is a one year extension so that they can better adapt to the new plans.

They already have a mandate in force so the extension doesn't affect the fact that they are already mandated while individuals are not.

Jon Stewart has been kicking the Republicans asses all week long. Just fucking hammering them. So now he hits a Democrat with a few hard questions and he's back under the bus?

You have never seen Jon Stewart "push a point incessantly with any Republicans"? Seriously? Then you must not watch a lot of the Daily Show.

DU is the most fickle place on the damn internet.

However face to face, he is an obsequious noodle back. I also believe he acted like
a prick because she was a woman, she was polite because she was representing the Administration. Reminded me of how repugnantcans talk to women who do not fawn
over them or spout the party line.

Jon gave her 2 whole segments to explian the benefits of the ACA

She blew it
she was totally unprepared
she couldn't answer simple direct questions
she talked in circles

had she come out prepared and answered the questions that were put to her that interview would have turned out quite different

It isn't as if O'Liely wouldn't trot out the same old talking points, i.e. non-answers.

edit to add - Sebelius is a public servant, and should have answers. She should also be used to being pressed for answers.

puts right wing guests in front of his left leaning audience, over and over and over. I think he has had John McCain on more times than any other guest. I usually don't watch the last half of the show because it is some RWer with another book to sell.

There are days when I can't watch the first half either because of the obsession with Fox News. I don't watch Fox and TDS is often just like a highlights reel from Fox News.

"I honestly don't understand why businesses wouldn't jump at the chance to decouple health insurance from their responsibility, and why the government wouldn't jump at the chance to create a single-payer system that is simplifying this garbledy-gook and create the program I think America deserves," Stewart said to big applause from the audience.

He gave her 2 whole segments to explain the benefits to the ACA.
Instead she was completely unprepared - talked in circles - and avoided answering questions
I was screaming at my t.v.

They should not put her on any more shows
They need to send someone who knows what the hell they are talking about
