HERE are the districts that are in danger of losing their RED stripes of crazy and turning them into TRUE BLUE AMERICAN
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/06/gop-house-2014-polls_n_4050686.html
Republican incumbents are behind in 17 of the districts analyzed:
CA-31, CO-06, FL-02, FL-10, FL-13, IA-03, IA-04, IL-13, KY-06, MI-01, MI-07, MI-11, NY-19, OH-14, PA-07, PA-08, WI-07.
In four districts, the incumbent Republican fell behind after respondents were told their representative supported the government shutdown: CA-10, NY-11, NY-23, VA-02.
Three districts saw GOP incumbents maintain their hold over their Democratic challengers, even after hearing their elected officials' views on the shutdown, including CA-21, NV-03 and OH-06.

INTERESTING that incumbents chose to leave their own districts to run in other districts. Guess it worked, but why?

CO-06 is currently represented by Republican Michael Coffman, the former Colorado Secretary of State, and is one of the wealthiest congressional districts in the country with a median income of $73,393.
Formerly a safe GOP district, redistricting have caused this seat to become a swing seat; the district is polarized by liberal voters in Aurora and conservative voters in Highlands Ranch, two major cities in the district.

Republican Representative Steve King won reelection in the 4th district in 2012, after serving in the now defunct Iowa's 5th congressional district.
Jim Mowrer, an assistant to the United States Under Secretary of the Army, is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge King.[23] Christie Vilsack, the Democratic nominee against King in 2012, took a job with the United States Agency for International Development as the Senior Advisor on International Education, making a rematch in 2014 unlikely

In the Illinois 13th congressional district, a former Miss America winner is challenging one of the Houses newest members.
Erika Harold, the 2003 Miss America, announced last week that she was issuing a primary challenge to Republican US Rep. Rodney Davis, a freshman congressman. Also a graduate of the University of Illinois and Harvard Law School, Harold was a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention.
In her campaign announcement video, with a subtle, but not overwhelming musical score, Harold struck a positive and hopeful note. She also did not mention her opponent by name:
Redistricting:
The congressional district covers parts of Bond, Champaign, Madison, McLean and Sangamon counties, and all of Christian, Calhoun, De Witt, Greene, Jersey, Macon, Macoupin, Montgomery and Piatt counties, as of the 2011 redistricting which followed the 2010 census. All or parts of Decatur, Godfrey, Taylorville and Urbana are included.[2] The representatives for these districts were elected in the 2012 primary and general elections, and the boundaries became effective on January 5, 2013.

Elizabeth Jensen, who runs the Lexington-based Race for Education and is a former Walt Disney executive, has scheduled her first fundraiser for July 8. Jensen, 48, is the first Democratic candidate to announce that she will challenge Barr in the 2014 race.
In Jensen's corner already are:
Celinda Lake and Daniel Gottoff of Lake Research Partners, which will conduct polling. Lake worked with U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, former Auditor Crit Luallen and House Speaker Greg Stumbo when he was attorney general.
David Eichenbaum of Struble Eichenbaum Communications, who produced Gov. Steve Beshears campaign advertisements.
Carol Andrews, Matt Bricken and GregTalmage of Grindstone Research LLP, a research and strategy consulting firm. Andrews worked for former Finance and Administration Secretary Jonathan Miller during his run for governor in 2007.
Laura DAngelo, a partner at Dinsmore & Shol, will serve as campaign treasurer

Pam Byrnes announced her campaign for the Democratic Party nomination today.
She is an attorney from Chelsea with a background in family law. She is the former Director of the Washtenaw County Friend of the Court. Byrnes was also the Executive Director of the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute.
Byrnes says Washington is broken and that is hurting middle class families.
I think that the current representative from the 7th congressional district is a significant part of that gridlock in Washington, says Byrnes.
************* MI-11 against Kerry Bentivolio
Jocelyn Benson, dean of the law school at Wayne State University and the Democratic Partys nominee for Michigan Secretary of State in 2010, is eyeing a congressional race in metro Detroit next year.
Bensons entry into the race would give it a high-profile Democrat, even as the incumbent faces a GOP battle to hold onto the seat. Lawyer David Trott, who has already shown he has many friends in party circles, announced his candidacy to challenge the freshman Bentivolio in the Republican primary next year.
Democrats have had aspirations to capture the Michigan 11th for years, but the state Legislature redrew district lines to make it more solidly Republican. Representing western Wayne and parts of southeastern Oakland County, however, a Democrat could potentially make inroads in a year that favored that party nationally.

A CONTENDER!!! Attorney Michael Wager to seek 14th District congressional seat.
I'm betting he will be a WINNER because he's been organizing as soon as David P Joyce got selected to replace the previous Rep who retired during his election cycle. ?!?
http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2012/12/attorney_michael_wager_to_seek.html
Recently served as finance chairman of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown's re-election campaign
"As a civic participant in NEO (including on the Boards of Gateway and the Port Authority) for 20 years, I am first committed to my community and its well being," Wager's email said. "That includes support for education and business in our region. The U.S. House needs more voices that speak for the benefits of supporting higher education as well as businesses that take risk and invest capital. I have spent my career working with those that do just that, including as adjunct faculty at CWRU."
Wager's email also said there's "broad support" for his candidacy, and that business leaders and officeholders including Brown, Toledo Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Niles Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan have agreed to help him raise campaign money. He estimated he'd need more than $2 million for the race.
*** A little bit more about our contender **** He's already fighting for Ohio. His FB page reads like a DU Forum. He is chronicling every misstep, every hypocritical word out of David Joyce's mouth.
https://www.facebook.com/michaelwagerforcongress
Michael Wager (running in OH-14) is not a typical politician. He is a lawyer, businessman and educator who understands business and will solve problems.
Michael Wager was born and raised in northeast Ohio. He attended the local public schools and worked at various times as a newspaper boy (for the Plain Dealer), a lifeguard and a warehouseman unloading boxcars during the midnight shift as a member of Teamsters local 507. His family story is a very familiar American journey.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/05/31/1212394/-PA-08-Help-An-Iraq-War-Veteran-Beat-A-Tea-Party-Extremist
Political newcomer Kevin Strouse just received a sure sign that national Democrats see him as the top contender in the 8th district. He has been named one of the DCCCs first eight Jumpstart candidates.
Strouse, an Iraq war veteran and former CIA officer, is challenging to incumbent Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks) in Pennsylvanias 8th congressional district.
The newly-formed program, launched by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, provides early financial, communications, operational and strategic support to help high-tier candidates get a head start in these highly-targeted races. The DCCC stated the initiative is meant to be a launching pad that is based on the quality of the candidate and the viability of the district.
Strouses candidacy has previously been compared to fellow Iraq War army vet Patrick Murphy, who represented the 8th district from 2007 to 2011 and twice sparred with Fitzpatrick. Murphy has been a vocal supporter of Strouse, going as far as to say he felt Strouse has a better chance to defeat Fitzpatrick than he initially did in 2006. - Politics PA, 5/9/13
