Andrea Mitchell ON FIRE roasts GOP congressman over denial of death benefits to US troops

Here are some excerpts:

Andrea Mitchell: But the larger point, Congressman Duffy, is these mini CR s– mini continuing resolutions — that’s the whole question of taking little pieces of the government. The issue is not that this is a small matter, it’s a very big matter, but so is the matter of the kids in Head Start.

So is the problem of the single moms who aren’t getting food stamps and aren’t getting their help.

So down the road are the survivors benefits and that fund is going to run out in weeks if not months.

So you can’t take this piecemeal, Congressman. Isn’t the issue that someone has to sit down and figure out what to do about the stalemate that has led to this disgrace?….

..............................

Then Duffy went on a rant blaming the media for, well, everything. That didn't sit too well with Andrea Mitchell.

MITCHELL: We've asked questions of both sides. that's not fair.

But Duffy kept ranting and browbeating.

Mitchell: With all due respect, this is about military death benefits to kids, 19-year-old kids who died in Afghanistan and who are not returning home, this is about what their families are entitled to by law and what they are not getting.

This is not about what you want in Obamacare and not about what the president wants on the debt ceiling.

Duffy: Don't spin that on me.

Mitchell: You consider it a small ask that he gets rid of the central part of his health care plan that was upheld by the vote, of a presidential election and the United States Supreme Court?

Duffy: Andrea, hold on. That's your spin.

Mitchell: That's not spin.

Strange bedfellows--I find myself siding with Wall Street on this one.

Of all the people who could be reporting on this, it seems there is a special and especially painful irony that Andrea Mitchell, Mrs. Alan Greenspan, is covering this. Her outrage rings so false. Her husband was one of the architects of this kind of fiscal policy, this kind of tea-baggery selfishness, the very kind of irrational idiocy that got us into this fucked up mess.

Too little, too late, Mrs. Greenspan. You should be out there, with your husband dragged behind you, apologizing to those military families, apologizing for their loved ones ever being in Afghanistan in the first place. Why are we there? Why? Why? So a few fat cats can get even fatter on their blood? On their families' tears?

Oh fuck you, Andrea. Just fuck you.

Cat got her tongue yesterday and now today she has to "balance".

All of this is to get ratings and keep stirring the fucking pot. It's a repeat of the 2012 election cycle.

She should have to go face to face with the families of the soldiers. Go get another Botox injection Mrs. Greenspan.

I just about lost it at dinner last night, listening to Mrs. Greenspan on I think it was Rachel Maddow's show. It was the segment on the five troops killed in Afghanistan over the weekend whose families are now denied benefits. I mean, for fuck's sake, taking the cameras into a family's overwhelming grief like that was bad enough, but then to have that greedy grasping Ayn Rand's tit-sucking hypocrite of Andrea Mitchell to do the reporting? Are you shitting me?

The congressional gym stays open as an "essential" service, but the mothers and widows of dead soldiers -- and dead for no good reason that I can see in a war that's at least 11 years and 11 months too long -- get to wait until it's fucking convenient for the likes of Ted Cruz to give them their benefits? They don't get to go to Dover to greet the remains (how sick is that to begin with) because John Boehner is a disgusting little power whore?

Where is Andrea Mitchell reporting about that? Where is the fucking outrage?

Never mind. I know where it is. And it's nowhere near Andrea Mitchell.

Sadly, today we have a government of the (rich) People, by the (uninformed) People, for the (Wall Street) People.

This isn't good for anyone in America, well maybe for the rich but I can't see how they can want us to default either.
