Conservative Columnist: Campaign Against Obamacare Is 'Suicide Of The Right'
Good to read, but Podhoretz writes that because he knows that this fight is no more about Obamacare. It is about saving face.
Obamacare conspicuously absent of Cantor and Ryan's editorial today (Cantor has one mention, but it is more in passing than asking for changes), and Ryan is incurring the wrath of the Tea Party) for not proposing getting rid of Obamacare as part of the solution. It is now about being shown negotiating with the president and getting something out of it.
Obviously, this is not admissible at this point. There is really no time to negotiate, particularly as it is not even obvious Boehner would get the votes if they got to a solution.
