Just called my rep, Joe Barton.

I've contacted him many times in the past and been very civil but he hasn't responded to the last half dozen or so missives. Of course I got a staffer and was very polite 'cause his job must be hell right now.

"What message can I pass on to Representative Barton?"

'First let me say that your job must be awfully tough right now and I sympathize with you particularly as your boss is trying to take away your employer provided health care. That said, as a Yellow Dog Democrat I want to thank Mr. Barton for the excellent work he is doing for my party. A month ago there was no hope that we could take the House but thanks to the work done by the Republican party there are now 25 districts in the toss up category. Please pass on my gratitude and tell him to keep up the good work.'

Ted Cruz and John Cornyn are up next.

I have sent e-mails only, because every time I think about what I'm going to say when I call, I get so angry, that I don't think I could be civil. I might take that strategy.

I've been traveling and I need to contact my Republican representative. I live in the gerrymandered 10th district.

My response would probably sound more to the right than yours. I would tell him that I was extremely disappointed in his actions, that several of my relatives were Republican Party activists (Which they were), that they believed that the GOP was fiscally responsible and tried to promote general prosperity, and that I have come to believe that GOP pretensions of being fiscally-responsible and pro-middle class and pro-business (I'm not talking about multi-nationals or hedge-fund and bankster players but small- and medium-sized business here) are as bogus as a stack of three-dollar bills.

Creating a fiscal crisis and threatening to create a recession are not responsible actions by anyone, whether left or right of center.

I would go on to tell my congressional rep (McCaul) that he should do right by his constituents or resign from office.

Good for you Lib! I tried to email Greg Walden yesterday and when I hit the "send" button, it cranked around for a few minutes and then I got a FAIL message that said the website was down for maintenance! I live in a Dem friendly part of Southern Oregon that is districted with all of very red Eastern Oregon. Walden is an ass and I wish we could boot him. I'm still going to try to send that email again today. This second email might borrow some of your words. Thanks.

I've been posting like mad on my TP rep's (Garrett NJ CD#5) Facebook page. He is crazy. I've sent some emails too but of course the only reply is boilerplate nonsense. They never have an answer for anything you say. I really don't think they care one whit about what their constituents think. They know a nice lobbying job awaits if their ass gets kicked out in the next election.

My Rep is Eddie Bernice and she is pure all the way through Democrat, way to go Eddie! I have contacted John Cornyn on several occasions and the only reply I get from him is to ask for money. Kay Bailey would always reply on the subject. I have not contacted T. Cruz, he is such a jerk, it would be a waste of my time. All he is about is promoting T. Cruz. And he is stupid enough to think he could be elected president, or I should say stupid as R. Perry.

hope you don't mind, but I used some of your message.

I want to thank you Mr. Rokita for the excellent work you are doing for my democratic party. A month ago there was no hope that we could take back the House, but thanks to the work done by the Republican party there are now 25 districts in the toss up category.
