Here's an interesting graphic from the WP describing the past 17 US government shutdowns. I searched and couldn't find that it had been posted before; if it has, well, then here it is again:

(6,452 posts)You can't see clearly how long the shutdowns were; the reason for each one isn't described, nor is the party that caused each one; there's a huge gap at the end that is left off for some reason. Much of this information could be put into a graphic like this one and it would be a lot better.
