EMERGENCY QUADRUPLE BYPASS - Senator Jim Inhofe alive today because of healthcare coverage

We talk about the importance of the ACA as it will allow Americans access to affordable healthcare.

"Routine" "preventative" healthcare -- not just "urgent" "emergency" healthcare.

Routine -- Just like Senator Jim Inhofe, Republican from Oklahoma received. That "routine" doctor's visit saved his life.

During a routine doctor's visit, a blockage was discovered.

He had EMERGENCY QUADRUPLE BYPASS surgery in Tulsa last Friday.

Inhofe claims he had no symptoms -- "The discovery shocked me as I had no visible symptoms that something was wrong,"

Without preventative care and "routine" visits, he was virtually certain to have a heart attack.

THAT BLOCKAGE? TPM reports that in fact -- 2 of his arteries had 100 percent blockage, a 3rd was at 90 percent, and a 4th was 75 percent - so he was literally a ticking time bomb.

So Inhofe is alive because of his ability to have affordable "routine" visits. He would deny that same ability to other Americans by denying them the ability to pay for a routine visit.

with his doctor during his "routine" visit, like the rest of us are on ACA. No way my doctor would discover a heart blockage in me, if I had one, because as a patient, I'm not being looked at as a whole person.

Even if an unusual condition pops up between the time I make an appointment and must declare the 2 most important things I want to talk to the doctor about, the doctor refuses to discuss the newly emerged third issue and says I must schedule another visit.

While ACA is better than nothing, it is rationing care to the detriment of patients.
