She knows because she applied 3 weeks ago.
I told her it just opened last week. You couldn't have applied 3 weeks ago.
After talking to her I learned that she applied for Medicaid for her son 3 weeks ago and she would have to pay some amount and that's what sucks.
Yet she insists that she applied for Obama care and it is the worst.
I told her to try the exchanges but it didn't sink in.
She wants to believe that Obamacare sucks.
Some people just can't be helped.

(11,417 posts)Medicaid benefits were in place last week. I remember her telling me back then she needed to get insurance for her son so he could go on some school trip.
She is a low paid temp and even though she said she would have had to pay something for the Medical.
Today everything has changed but she thinks she applied for Obama care three weeks ago and the result of what happened three weeks ago fits her preset idea of Obama care so it is hard for me to tell her she is wrong.
I am going to keep working on her to get her to try the CA exchange but today she wasn't hearing any of what I had to say.

Offer to sit at the computer with her.
Tell her whatever.... just for the hell of it. Just for shits and grins.... Whatever phrase will work.
I'm convinced that you can work magic here!

She was in an angry mood so when she settles down I can talk to her about it.

(642 posts)She would likely benefit from subsidies on the insurance policies she'll find in the exchange. But that fact, apparently, has been lost to her in the noise.
Keep reminding her.
