I am confused by the latest Republican strategy...

Some conservatives are pushing the idea that they are willing to increase the "debt limit" but do not want to approve the budget until they can get concessions on Obamacare? They would prefer to continue to pass single items in the budget, one at a time.

But, what confuses me, is that the debt limit is meant to cover the budget proposal that has been agreed upon by the Congress? The part of the budget that must be covered by borrowing is added to the "debt ceiling". So if they raise the debt ceiling, aren't they already agreeing to the budget??

Confusing, I know.

Louis Gohmert thinks that we cannot go into Default if there are no Federal Employees in "the office"......

Wait, you don't have to imagine. 30 years of dropping RW radio and FOX have accomplished the same thing.

I feel a little embarrassed for them having a total meltdown on the global stage. But then again it is deeply satisfying and makes for some fine entertainment.

They are confused about everything about running a government period.

I think they just make things up as they go.

They don't care what the IEDs are made of. They just like the fact that they go boom and can destroy things.

Seriously, we haven't had a budget for years, because House Republicans won't approve anything proposed by Obama. Instead, we've been running the country on one continuing resolution after another, literally for several years now. It's utterly dysfunctional, and it's all the G.O.P's doing.

(Millimiter is even smaller than an inch)

Second, what they want is not altogether clear. There is no real budget and they are trying to buy time, perhaps have a talk with the children in the caucus.

There is no strategy.
"Hey, I have an idea, let's shut down the govt"
"Can we do that?"
"Oh, certainly!"
"Why do we want to shut down govt?"
"Details, details. Because we can."
"Didn't we do this before, and it backfired?"
"This time is different, we have a plan."
"Whats the plan?"
"We don't have one....thats the beauty of the plan."
"How do we restart it?"
"We don't, we blame the Dems for allowing us to destroy the govt "
"Aren't the voters going to be pissed at us?"
"Naw, they're stupid morons who believe anything Fox tells them."
