....TPM reported earlier today that the president was "happy" that the GOP was willing to raise the debt ceiling. Probably push reporting.

3. Here's the quote from Carney

Oct 2013

"The president is happy that cooler heads at least seem to be prevailing in the House," Carney said at the daily press briefing. He added: "I think the president said the other day, if they were to send him a clean debt ceiling extension, no partisan strings attached he would sign it. But we don't know that's what we're going to get here."

Still waiting to hear what the pukes will actually offer because they tend to say one thing and then randomly flail about to do something completely different.

Albeit just a faint one.

It doesn't sound to me like anything Obama would get ecstatic about.

Obama can't agree to this -- or can he ???

but only if President Barack Obama first agrees to fresh negotiations on spending cuts. Under the Republican plan, the partial government shutdown would continue in the meantime

but still leave govt shut down. That would be a total loss for Obama because:

1) It would reward terrorist tactics, and leave the certainty of another terrorist strike in 60 days

2) Government would still be shut down and they will try to just re-open the bits of government they personally like.

He cannot agree to that -- but if I know Obama, he will. I hope he proves me wrong this one time.

He says he likes Boehner's proposal
and subsequently Teapublicans lose their shit, gnaw their limbs off
and destroy their own proposal before its even proposed.

Could it be Obama is brilliantly messing with them?
