NBC/WSJ poll: support for Obama, ACA, and big government all UP since shutdown began

#winning

http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/10/20903624-nbcwsj-poll-shutdown-debate-damages-gop?lite

For one thing, the health-care law has become more popular since the shutdown began. Thirty-eight percent see the Affordable Care Act (or “Obamacare”) as a good idea, versus 43 percent who see it as a bad idea – up from 31 percent good idea, 44 percent bad idea last month.

...

And by a 52-percent-to-44 percent difference, respondents believe the government should do more to solve problems. Back in June, the public was split, 48 percent to 48 percent, on whether the government should do more or less.

...

“That is an ideological boomerang,” says McInturff, the GOP pollster. “As the debate has been going on, if there is a break, there is a break against the Republican position.”

Obama’s approval rating ticks up to 47 percent

Forty-seven percent of Americans approve of his job performance, which is actually up two points from last month (though that’s within the survey’s margin of error).

1. Since Obamacare was designed to only help those who could not afford health insurance

38% is an amazingly good percentage.

70% of our citizens don't qualify for Obamacare, so one would expect many of them (who don't care about others) might see it as a bad idea.

4. The ACA is not a single insurance plan. It is a law passed by Congress that applies to ALL Americans

Our entire society benefits as a whole, and everyone with existing insurance benefits, and those without mostly benefit (except in some red states intent on continuing to persecute the poor).

You really aren't going to last long here.

6. And as relaxed as the President is, you know he's got the debt ceiling issue under control.

Boehner's out of options. If he does nothing or continues the shutdown it just gets compoundingly worse for the GOP/Tea-hadist movement.

Marsha Blackburn saying people will realize they don't need so much government. I think it's working the other way around. People are being reminded of why the laws and agencies came to be.

Of course!

Because people are enrolling and seeing the wrong-wing hype is way off! We all knew it would be the case, but the people over there on the other side are coming around and seeing it too.

YES! I'm going to save money on whichever ACA plan I enroll in. $300/yr or more depending on which plan I choose.

President Barack Obama
Harry Reid
and
Nancy Pelosi made this happen. And I congratulate and thank them.
