(25,029 posts)If that doesn't do the trick then the Russian solution to Czars starts having appeal and that would go for those holding the strings of the political puppets but I figure Boner reprising the role of Moe Green will get the message across.

(15,060 posts)The teabaggers are a clear and present danger to the survival of millions of people. If they let the debt limit expire, they'll have turned the Constitution into a suicide pact.

(1,190 posts)If they do this crap and leave millions without checks and 0 safety net, Many will die,Many will become homeless, While even the banks will lose millions of credit card payments, Many just barely able to make their mortgage will fail to make payments, Straining the already fragile economy,Soon after that we will have a real 30's style depression , The ripple effect will be felt on a scale unknown to the whole world, Thanks to the republican teabaggers and corporate greed

(9,474 posts)I have 3 sources of income, all government related. I get a military retirement check, 70% of which comes from the VA (disability), and a SS security check. All of those will either stop or be greatly diminished if the shutdown continues or the Debt Limit is not raised. The stress involved is almost overwhelming at this point.
I'm trying to decide if I need to stock up on necessities now or if I can wait until closer to 22Oct when the govt. is going to run out of money. In the meantime, I am trying to save as much money as possible.
I'm know I'm not the only one in this boat, just wonder what other folks are doing to prepare.

(30,947 posts)I am planning to move in with him and his wife in January even if we do not go into default or I lose my SS benefits for a while. Expenses are just becoming too much to handle even with my SS benefits. Fortunately, I do not have any credit card debt.
