I kinda feel bad for Boner.

Think about it.

He's the top GOPer in the Congress, but he can be knocked out on his ass by a right wing kook with Kock funding. He knows that. So he treats people he *K*N*O*W*S* are crazy as shit house rats as if they mattered. In so doing, he avoids the threat of being primaried.

Meanwhile, the sane people think he's fostering the killing of the country. It is entirely possible that he will lose his speakership on a vote.

So what's he to do? Piss off the sane people or piss off the crazy as shit house rat people?

I actually do feel a little sorry for him. He's in a no win situation. Even as it is of his own making and even as it puts him ahead of his job and his country, I can still muster some level of humanity towards him.

That said, I am cheering for his rapid descent to the shitheap of history.

I can't find a scrap of sympathy for that venal man. I want him gone, as quickly as possible.

I want the lot of them humiliated, out of office, and quite possibly prosecuted under the RICO statutes, the sedition law, and whatever else the DOJ can throw at them---and their billionaire bosses.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/09/19/1240032/-Boehner-may-have-primary-opponent-in-2014

According to TPM (Talking Points Memo), John Boehner has attracted a Republican primary challenger next year. Eric Gurr, CEO of a computer consulting firm says he will challenge Boehner, primarily because of two things: Boehner's position on immigration reform and his support for U.S. military involvement in Syria. (Boehner says he supports incremental immigration reform, but Gurr won't have any of that).

I have no pity for this oxygen thief. What's the worse that will happen? He quits and becomes a high paid lobbyist? His future is far more assured and secured than the millions of people he and his ilk attempt to screw over daily...

The Republican party is screwed. The Teabaggers are not really Republicans and having 2 parties trying to occupy one place at the same time is not possible.

I think the Teabaggers win this fight simply because they are so gerrymandered in, they are the less likely to lose their seats.

It really is a clusterf@#k in an earthquake over there.

He could TODAY solve the problem by bringing the bills to the floor, get them passed and move on. He may lose his speakership, but so what. He is not doing that great a job anyway.

Had he any backbone he actually would have strengthened his position as Speaker, and now he is a puppet.

Look, we can make fun of Republicans being crazy, but it's not all of them or even a majority. It's a vocal minority. All Boehner had to do was show leadership, stand up to them from the beginning, and said, "look, we are a minority in government, the best way to advance any of our causes is to compromise with Democrats and be reasonable, that way we can pass compromise bills that get us some things. Otherwise, we won't get anything. If you don't like that, kick rocks." And a majority of his caucus would have jumped in behind him in lockstep. The extreme right that is now pulling him down would have been neutered, end of story.

We are not without our own crazies in our party. But our leaders, Reid and Pelosi (not to mention Obama), are competent, so they keep our fringe in line. This idiot Boehner's inability to handle his own caucus is what has caused this entire mess. Feel bad for him? He is the problem. Not Cruz, not the extreme in the House, him. Because he is the one who failed in his role as Speaker, and in doing so, lead a breakdown of government.

Admit it. You love the fact that he's getting what he so richly deserves. We all do. It's hard to drag our troglodytes out of their caves into the light. Trying to explain to them where the sun goes at night, that we don't have to pray for it to come back up, global warming, sciences, maths, histories gets exhausting.
They should have been paying attention.

For years, the so called "moderates" have been enabling and defending their crazier comrades, and have offered, at best, loud, cold silence, when the abuses their friends did started to make Americans suffer and die.

To quote that misquoted man, MLK, we will remember the "silence of our friends." At this point, we need to cut the cancer out.
