3. A hard question would be: "If not, then who?"

No one comes to mind who is more attractive for that position. I always like what I hear from Elizabeth and she demonstrates the temperament, judgment, intellect, and dedication that makes her qualified for the job.

Who else could it be?

I love her for that reason.

i follow her in politics because she is such a good person and would make a strong leader. Elizabeth Warren is rather amazing with her conviction and no nonsense.

8. Not Cuomo!

I'm saying it now. I will not under any condition ever cast a vote for Andrew Cuomo. If it were up to me, the fiscal-conservative Wall Street protecting SOB would be forcibly-ejected from the Democratic Party. I'm shocked that his own father still loves him.

Warren IMO needs to not only get elected but serve well for at least a half a term before being really viable. Also, I'm concerned that for most of her adult-life, up until the Wall St. collapse really, she was a vocal and staunch conservative. Outside of economic issues I don't know a lot about what she really believes or what her positions and actions would be. Even in all that, she's still probably my second choice out of the people I see as possibly running.

I'm still leaning towards MD Gov. Martin O'Malley whom I've known since I was 20 and he was running for mayor of Baltimore. He's what I really want out of a Democratic nominee...a knife-fighting unapologetic liberal who has shown an ability to beat the GOP's slimy tactics and Koch/ALEC money twice and doesn't shy away from playing dirty pool.

13. Sheldon Whitehouse? Sherrod Brown? I agree with Chan790, absolutely not Cuomo.

Unfortunately, if I had to pick a name right now -- the person most likely to be the Democratic nominee in 2016 -- I'd have to name Cuomo.

Our search for the not-Cuomo may even remind us of the Republicans' search for the not-Romney. The two of them are hack politicians whose only ideology is self-advancement.

I'd vote for them. Don't know if they can break away.

9. She might be a possible candidate, but

it's far too early to tell. Let's see her elected to the Senate and find out how she handles that first. I like her, but I only know some things about her. If she demonstrates the kind of leadership abilities needed for the Presidency, wants to seek that office, and has broad-based support, then she will certainly be a potential candidate.

Right now, it's 2012, and we have a Congress to win so President Obama can get something done. I'll worry about 2016 after the 2014 elections. Until then, there's too much work to do.
