(20,176 posts)There's only one within 2 miles of the Beltway. It's in Fairfax.
All the others are either well inside DC or halfway to Baltimore, Dale City or Annapolis. There's one in Alexandria but it's about 10 miles down I-95 from the belt.
This is IHOP and Cracker Barrel country. Not quite into Shoney's or Waffle House territory yet.
Much like Walter "Flynn" White Jr., I am all about breakfast.

(36,281 posts)I say that with tongue somewhat in cheek, as I was raised in the south and have probably eaten more meals at Waffle House than at any other restaurant. We used to joke that it's scary how well each plate they serve looks so IDENTICAL to the menu photos hung over the kitchen. When I was in grad school, our lab got Waffle House T-shirts as solidarity symbols, because EVERY field research trip began at an early morning Waffle House table, and mostly they ended at one on the way back to the lab, too. Unless there was a good barbeque shack on the way. Or within a hundred mile diversion, LOL.
Thanks for reminding me. I now return you to this thread about cluelessness and the marriage of cousins.

(53,661 posts)Notice that playing what the rowdy patrons wanted didn't stop the abuse, either.
Started to post the clip from the television series, but it's not nice to make fun of people who talk to imaginary people.
