I stopped being able to watch that garbage several years ago. I think the DEms should all refuse to participate and let them have their right wing gab fest all alone. See how long it takes for the network to go back to davey and goliath.

Very few people are buying that argument at the moment. Editorials are consistently holding the R's responsible for mucking with the full faith and credit of the United States. That's as it should be.

The simple answer is "Damn right the President isn't negotiating. The credit worthiness of our nation is not negotiable. Anybody who wants to negotiate on that is a traitor."

The tea party wing of the Republican party will not agree to anything less than meeting all of their demands.

I love how all of the Republicans are denying that this debacle will have any negative effects on their candidates in the 2014 elections. They live in a completely different world than the rest of us.

It will hurt the other Republicans, and certainly make it very difficult for them to win the Presidency. The party at large must decide if they are willing to let this extreme minority take the rest of them down. So far, the answer is "yes", considering that Boehner could have ended this at any time simply by allowing clean votes to go to the floor.

This may have to go on another week or two before the rest of the Republicans get enough backbone to stand up to the teabaggers.
