Oregon man killed while on x-country walk against bullying in memory of his gay son

who killed himself.

this is just so damned heartbreaking. Shine on Mr. Bell and Jadin. You will not be forgotten

An Oregon dad who began walking across the country to spread awareness about bullying after his teenage son committed suicide was struck and killed by a tractor trailer this week in Colorado.

Joseph Bell, 48 — whose 15-year-old son, Jadin, hanged himself earlier this year after relentless bullying because he was gay — was cut down by the big rig while walking along the shoulder of U.S. 40 in Kit Carson on Wednesday, ABC News reported.

Colorado State Patrol told the news station that the driver, Kenneth Raven, 49, fell asleep at the wheel before the truck swerved off the road and hit Bell.

“I’ve been crying all day,” Ann Clark, who met Bell along his journey in Utah, told KUTV. “He was doing something so important and now he won’t be able to finish that walk.”

Bell was walking to New York City, where his son wished one day to live among people who wouldn’t judge him, according to the father’s website.
