those tea party fucks were totally out of control today

pushing and shoving cops in front of the White House, vandalizing government property and stealing it, trespassing.

It totally pisses me off that they were treated with kid gloves when left wing protestors get roughed up and arrested en masses even when they're just linking arms and singing.

fucking disgusting double standard and the argument that it's "better optics" is bullfuckingshit.

I've called a few on it, one was on a subject that I actually knew something about (the dolphin die offs on the east coast) and he was quickly over his head. But enough petty boasting, the accounts share a few common features:
You will usually see a first and last name.
Some of the photos look eerily the same as far as lighting, position of the subject, etc.
They are usually the first to post.
Full of false "factoids" they are eager to post.
The reason for this was posted recently on Scientific American as the reasoning for disabling their user comment feature. Because the agressive comments make uninformed readers doubt the veracity of an article even if it is scientifically valid.
LA Time recently dropped comments from climate deniers for the same reason.

I thing part of it is the wealthy right wingers are seeking to control the discussion on the internet the way they control the MSM.

And yes, the wire cutters (or whatever they were) at the barricades WAS vandalism, and entering closed property WAS trespassing. And from what I saw, some of the protesters deserved arrest. But they get high fives and wet kisses from Palin and Cruz.

The arrogance and flat-out stupidity of these people is stunning -- and frightening.

is considered "assault".

Of course, that would have zero weight when it comes to smearing Democrats. "Veterans vote Republican!" is the mantra.

Plus, the cops don't like cameras around. The Fox camera crews probably make the police far less likely to even get in the way of a bused-in veteran ...

It does help prevent arrest and police abuse when a Senator or Representative is endorsing your protest with their presence. That's what Occupy needed for their safety.

Frankly, I would find it somewhat funny if the monument were vandalized like crazy tonight because those idiots took down the barriers.

is what it looks like. IMHO they want to create fear in the minds of more moderate Republicans and the rest of the country. What they cannot win through the regular legislative process they will try to win through extra/anti Constitutional means. Pure propaganda but dangerous because their base and others believe in this orchestrated nonsense.

I would love nothing more than to see these jerks arrested (those who deserve it at any rate), but this is not the correct time for emotion. Any police action directed at these provocateurs will be used by the right to incite more knucklheads to join in and thus sidetrack a debate that they are losing.

in their efforts to remain relevant will only cost them in the long run. Great title by the way.

I think it may be an insult to all who have served the country to see such an obvious manipulation of an opportunity for face time. Some very "beautiful" photo opportunities, as if the Republicans now hope they have found their ticket, Palin and Cruz.

WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM. DO NOT STOOP TO THEIR LEVEL. It's like (at a different level, obviously, but still similar to) the assholes posting photochopped pics of Cruz with Confederate flags.
