Thanks to Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin, the Tea Party was given the chance today to show the world who, and what they are. #KlanRally12:28 PM - 13 Oct 2013
A very sickening display, to say the least.
I hope this disgusting Klan rally wakes people up to what the tea party really is - a group of racists who want to set this country back 200 years.

How damn dumb does the republicon party have to be to expose their Klan side in front of the White House?..

(10,908 posts)They are both at the http://theobamadiary.com/2013/10/13/a-tweet-or-two-12/
link in the OP. Anyway, these are the clowns we have to deal with in about a year in the midterm elections (or in a month for some of us that have local elections). In addition to the KKK symbolism of waving the Confederate flag in front of a black family's residence, I am incensed with someone waving both the Marine Corps flag (or any armed services flag) with the Confederate flag -- I thought the U.S. armed forces beat the slavers about 150 years ago (for example, Gettysburg was 150 years and 3 months ago). During the war, a total of 148 U.S. marines were killed in action, while 312 more died from other causes.
Hope the below doesn't offend, or maybe I should hope it does offend -- if it galvanizes us to extra efforts to get people to the polls, make sure they can vote and all that.

While I was looking for KKK images, I found this, for what its worth. It didn't strike me as funny, it looks like an attempt at humor in poor taste, but anyway it was so unusual, strange, bizarre, and "out there" that I couldn't resist posting it:

(4,305 posts)He didn't get to be anybody's ancestor because he joined the Union Army at age 16 to end slavery. The thugs withheld food and medical attention from a wounded and then a dying teenager. George somehow hung on for a couple of years, but then he died not long after the prisoner-of-war camp was liberated. Before dying, he managed to make this tiny brown tray, carving one last request: "Remember me."
I believe the worst stories that have come down from the Southern slave plantations. Because, frankly, with what they did to George, it all sounds like something they would do.
Of course, it would be wrong to forget that the slave system was just as bad in such very Northern states as New York.

These pictures in Post #20 are stunning to see. On the weekend when "Twelve Years a Slave" was screened, these imbeciles show us, unfortunately, that there will always be evil and ignorant people in this world.
Honestly, we're using our tax dollars to pay Ted Cruz to pretend he's John C. Calhoun? It's insane.

(3,922 posts)These people are terrorists. They certainly are terrifying.
They seek to bring down our government. If they could have yesterday, I think they would have attacked the President. Remember Jan Brewer jabbing her finger at the President?
Their hatred is palpable and real and every decent American should be disgusted and alarmed by their presence.
It's been said many times before, but the truth is a demonstration by Occupy outside the WH would have been met with violence. I certainly don't advocate that, but widespread disgust and disdain for these racist ignorants - and for Cruz and the idiot from Alaska - should be mainstream, loud, and overwhelming.
