It's the Free Market Kicking Limbaugh's A#$ --- So Cry me a fucking Ayn Randian River

..................

If Limbaugh proved anything this week, it's that the free market can force even the misogynistiest of misogynists to issue half apologies about showing misogynistic misogynistiness.

How's that for a hot and fruity slice of Ayn Randian irony? Not that his conservative fans get the irony.

Once advertisers stop advertising on your show because you're a FREAK SHOW who has lived so far above the 1% line for so long that you no longer can relate to the concept of accoutability.....that's when you've crossed a line.

It's not the Government, baby.
It's the Free Market.
It's the FREE MARKET that's kicking Rush Limbaugh's ass, baby. It's the FREE ASS MARKET.

Often when the topic of boycott comes up, those opposed to it (those whose ox is being gored usually) try to tie it to first amendment rights ( Sarah Palin was good for this non-sense) But as you point out, this is the free market at work. If Pepsi promotes the purchase of their product over Coke's they're effectively promoting a boycott of Coke. Advertising for a boycott of Limbaugh's sponsors is the free market making choices. People putting pressure on advertisers by threatening to buy elsewhere is the free market at work.

Sadly however, too many people can't be bothered taking the 15 minutes per weekday needed to make their voices heard. I hope everyone reading these posts will get the list of Limbaugh sponsors and call them each weekday, tell them why you can no longer buy their product. Avoiding the purchase of a product is not enough though, we must call them and tell them why, and tell them that we are spreading the word. This is the chance that we have been waiting for to really push Race Limbaugh into a corner. Call the sponsors, follow up with email or snail-mail, ask for a written response. 10 or 15 minutes a day and it's actually kind of fun.

But with net worth estimates from $500m to possibly over $1b dollars, I'd say the free market is more kissing the pig's feet.

why did he then humiliate himself by making a public apology (no matter how insincere it was), when he could have thumbed his nose at the world and gone off and lived happily ever after as a recluse? Could it be that his greed for more of the almighty dollar transcended all sense of pride that he may have had? Or perhaps he plans on taking it all with him when he goes.

that nothing will fill it.

oxycontin - nope still empty
four wives - nope still empty
successful radio show - nope still empty
adoration of fans - nope still empty
powerful force in the Republican Party - nope still empty
millions and millions of dollars - nope still empty

If he thinks more money is going to fill that void he is sorely mistaken. Hate is the only thing that makes him feel alive - no wonder he's so miserable.

I worked with Arthur Hamilton once.

I told him how much I liked Joe Cocker's version of his song.

He said "I hate it"

I still don't understand his comment.

But for your entertainment: Jim Keltner on drums, Jim Horn on sax , Leon Russel on piano and a whole bunch of other people....

Then he heard from the media, and he scoffed.

Then he heard from the President, in a round about way, and he wasn't impressed.

Then he heard from his accountants and he "apologized."

Now who's the prostitute?
