I think he took it personally that he made a deal with Boner for a CR and debt-ceiling increase in exchange for continuing the sequester, only to have Orangeman refuse to allow a House vote on it.

Wall Street and the Chamber are not happy. They will be less happy with each passing hour. I too fear a bad deal for us Democrats. The House might take it come Wednesday night.

And he ought to be ready to do that, after seeing Cantor essentially mounting a coup attept when he maned himself, not the Speaker, as the one who would determine if the shutdown proceeded.

What are they asking for in return?

No deal if it has to do with ACA, Social Security, Medicaid, Food stamps etc or anything to deprive the
poor and ethnic minority should be thrown out.

those in need of health care will still be excluded, I say no deal to any of the above.

The republicans are determined to prevent certain groups from accessing health care
and that to me is the crust of this government shutdown.

What a cruel bunch of group and they call themselves Christians.. how laughable is that?

The "deal" is a clean CR through mid-to-late December, debt ceiling raised for a year, and then budget talks.

That's it.

Poorly written articles have gone on to emphasize what may happen in those talks, such as the medical device tax. It makes it look like Republicans win something, when it isn't actually part of the deal.

Is this Administration smart enough to realize that? We're about to find out.

(My money says that they *are* smart enough, and will concede only vague promises of being willing to "negotiate" after the government has been re-opened and the debt ceiling lifted.)

All the talk of a deal between Reid and Boehner is going to be, in part, face-saving for Boehner.

Trouble is, there's probably going to be some actual concession by Reid, and that can't possibly be good.
