Jerry Sandusky requests more details about accusers, alleged crimes
By Andrew McGill / The Morning Call (Allentown, Pa.)
Sunday, March 4, 2012
Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky wants more details about his accusers, saying that prosecutors havent given him enough to build a defense in his child sexual abuse case.
Sanduskys attorney, Joseph Amendola, is asking prosecutors to further explain the dates and times of the charges against him, the locations of his alleged crimes and the names of any potential bystanders.
Sandusky is charged with 52 counts of molesting children during the last two decades.
Responding to a judges order, prosecutors supplied the first "bill of particulars" Thursday, listing the charges against the coach, rough time spans of the alleged incidents and his accusers ages. Saying some accusers were too young to remember details - the document lists victims as young as 8 - state attorneys didnt provide specific dates.
