(35,340 posts)3. Funny, I got a robo call yesterday from the NRA, I assume, saying how Romney supports gun rights
and the caller claimed that he has hunted elk and pheasant with Romney. I remembered that line from Romney "I've always been a rodent and rabbit hunter. Small varmints, if you will." I've hunted rabbits, squirrel and ground hogs, never once have I heard a hunter call them varmints or rodents, except for Elmer Fudd. I doubt that man has ever fired a gun in his lifetime.

article. But never heard anyone say I am going varmit hunting or I am varmint hunter. You my say I am going groundhog hunting or coyote hunting.
