If a deal doesn't happen by say noon tuesday

what would happen if the President Declared a National State of Emergency? Because that's what we will be in. It will be a free fall not seen since the great depression.

Honestly I don't think Cruz will sit by as this passes in the Senate and if it passes there is the House.

I hope to God I am wrong and we get through this thing. God I hope I am wrong.

The markets have alwas been skiddish, and even more so in recent times. I think if there hasn't been an agreement signed by Wed. afternoon, we'll see a hugh drop in the market value. Somewhere between 1,000 & 3,000 points! God help all those people with 401k's.

<big snip>

Throughout the shutdown, Obama has said Republicans must agree to reopen the government and extend the debt ceiling before the two sides can begin talks on spending or tweaks to his Affordable Care Act.

That position has not changed.

"We will not pay a ransom for Congress reopening the government and raising the debt limit," the White House said in a statement on Monday morning.

At the cost of 900 million dollars - 3 days at 300 million a day - Boehner will wait until the last minute - all to save face with the tea baggers to make it look like he fought up until the last minute.

Doing so would not give him any special powers. He can't override the legislature.
