The South ALSO has the highest minority populations, and specifically the highest black populations. It's a difficult position. I'm from the south. Most of my in-law family are Southern Baptists and I spend plenty of time with them...I'll be there for Thanksgiving, representing the "Liberal Puke" contingent, as I'm supposedly affectionately called. We don't talk about the fact that I work for the Democrats and make their life miserable by advocating health care for all, blah blah blah. I'm just misguided. If I just hated everyone as they do, America would be a better place. Instead, I try to help people. But I see a major batch of panties in a wad because I noted that most -- not all, but most -- of the guests on the talking head shows, hating on Obama, happen to be from the south speaking with thick Southern drawls. Ironically, none of me in-laws do. They're literally rocket scientists (two BILs work(ed) for NASA designing rockets and rocket fuels). They're otherwise very bright people...but they just can't abide this black president. I thought my OP was a bit light-hearted, but the Concern Brigade obviously saw it differently.

Again, to my Southern brothers and sisters, I'm sorry. I thought about making a similar post about "pointy-headed New England liberals" just to see if people would be similarly offended. I decided against it.
