"I hear Republicans saying to me, 'Look, you may not like Speaker Boehner, you may have all kind of differences with Speaker Boehner,' but if he is toppled, and some are saying to me he could be toppled this weekend if things don't go exactly right, that what you get after Boehner would be worse to deal with than trying to strike a deal with Speaker Boehner," Schieffer said on the program Sunday while interviewing Sen. Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat.

Schieffer also said that he has been told off the record that Democrats were close to accepting a deal late Thursday and early Friday, but that once an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll was released that showed Republicans getting most of the blame for the government shutdown, "far left" Democrats got more backbone.

"They said, hey, we've got the Republicans down. What we need to do now is put our boot on their throat and break them," Schieffer said.

I am not saying the conclusion is necessarily wrong, it is very possible that Boehner will lose his job soon, but Newsmax is a right-wing propaganda site and I do not trust that things are happening the way they say they are. Bob Schieffer is a hack as well, the "put our boot on their throat and break them" line was clearly made up by Schieffer to make Democrats look bad. The article also refers to Democrats as "far left" when there is not a single member of Congress that is anywhere close to being far-left.

I want to see a Boehner overthrow as well.

Of course my reason for wanting to see a Boehner overthrow are very different than their reasons for wanting to see it, and to be quite honest their reasons for wanting it are pretty moronic. If the morons want to destroy John Boehner's political career however then I sure as hell am not going to stop them. I am not going to trust them either, they can overthrow Boehner but I want to keep them far away from me.
