TSA forces woman to pump breast milk into bottles before boarding

A Hawaiian mom said she was embarrassed after the TSA asked her to "prove" her breast pump was real by filling the bottles before being allowed to board.

Amy Strand was flagged in the security line at the Lihue Airport in Kauai on Wed. She was traveling with her 9-month-old daughter, reported KITV 4 News.

She had an electric breast pump with her, and because the bottles in the carry-on bag were empty, she indicated she was asked to "prove" the breast pump was real.

TSA reportedly wanted Strand to demonstrate the pump and fill the bottles. The breastfeeding mother asked if there was a private area where she could pump the milk, and the TSA sent her to a women's bathroom to fill the bottles.

It's fucking deliberate.

There are no hard and fast TSA rules for airports, only general guidlines, because the PTBs want every wannabe tinpot dictator to make up his own.

One lesson that came out of the 20th Century is that any oppressed (no matter how brutally) population WILL eventually turn on its masters.

One that's kept constantly off balance can never get it's feet beneath it to stand up and fight back.

These people are very carefully chosen for their ability to figure out whatever petty cruelties have not yet been expressly forbidden and carry them out.

They're the dirty screw running a prison black market for cigarettes on behalf of the lag selling powders; They're the corrupt cop, too stupid to think past thousand dollar shakedowns; They're the schoolyard bully, they're the people who take joy from making the lives of others a living hell.

TSA exists to whip YOU into line, not keep bombs off planes. What keeps bombs off planes is intelligence gathering and the very simple fact that only a very limited amount of mileage can be had from actually blowing planes out of the sky. Too much success invites retaliation with extreme predjudice.

A demonstration that your child/family can be killed at any moment is a terrifying, paralysing experience. A big enough pile of bodies, releases you from ALL bonds and if you don't self destruct in your first wild flailings, there is a very good chance you will leave a trail of bodies as long as The Crow or Arnie.

the local police force because no matter how hard they tried they could never scale that wall We are talking about the local yocals at every airport. I fly a lot, how often you fly? You ever actually talk to these folks? I have...

They are rent-a-cops with a "higher purpose" in life

Oh, and I'm more worried about a tornado hitting our house than something happening at the airport. Maybe we could get some DU'er to apply for this job and see if your conspiracy holds true LOL. It's going to have to be a woman though, all the male spots are filled (see below)

stanford prison eperiment
milgram experiment
strip search hoax

Apply that knowledge to Mai Lai PLUS Abu Grahib PLUS Guantanamo PLUS virtually any prison in America PLUS The "Kill Team" in Afghanistan PLUS the platoon that raped a 14 year old girl and killed her entire extended family in a failed coverup, PLUS the declaration that every post pubescent male in Falluja was ipso facto a terrorist, Plus Korans on a bonfire, PLUS, PLUS, fucking PLUS.

Apply that knowledge to the PNAC manifesto.

If the driving forces were nothing more than abject stupidity this house of cards (not just the TSA, but the whole PATRIOT act powergrab) would have collapsed long ago.

Smedly Butler exposed the conspiracy. Smedly Buttler exposed the families and organisations which drove it in ninteen thirty fucking four. AND not a fucking thing was done.

McCarthy was not stupid. McCarthy DID lead (as figurehead if not in actuallity) an enormous conspiracy. And the same FUCKING names were front and center.

Fast forward to 2001 and beyond, and once more the same names, YET AGAIN, rise to prominence.

NOW you fucking tell me that there is no conspiracy. MINIMAL oversight and proper prosecution as laid out in the articles of the US military code of conduct, would have made any and all of those abuses (and a fuckload more) near impossible aberations.

Instead they are clockwork regular embarrassments to America. Not because of what they did, but because what they did rose to a level of public knowledge which forced the PTBs to act against their own best interests.

I was flying to Hawaii for a conference when I saw TSA attack an elderly man. He made two mistakes. (other than flying).

i. he brought his wife's ashes in a sealed container to bury her in her home town in Maui.
ii. he brought a jewel encrusted small nail clipper she gave him as a present.

The TSA forced him to open the ashes, and pour them out into one of those grey plastic shoe & purse holders. They sifted through it with their hands, and told him he could pour them back in. THEN they tore apart the clippers, ripping them apart and in front of him, threw them in the trash.

I was irate by the time I boarded.

We accept responsibility for the apparent misunderstanding and any inconvenience or embarrassment this incident may have caused her," the TSA said

"Apparent misunderstanding" isn't quite the same as apologizing for a mistake by a TSA agent. The phrasing leaves open the possibility that it was the passenger who misunderstood. Also, calling it an "inconvenience" is trivializing the woman's anger and embarrassment over the TSA's lack of private facilities for this extra scrutiny.

When-oh-when will Americans tire of this? I wonder.....

. . .they are sold on the other side of security so the geniuses in charge of safety can assume they haven't been tampered with and made into something dangerous.

Not saying it's right, just that fewer airports have their gift shops on the "pre" side of security.

Geez, now at O'Hare i don't think there is any vending for anything until one passes through security. Not sure about terminal 5, but the domestic terminals are that way.

Midway is the same way. In fact, several vendors fell on very hard times at Midway because those folks who were seeing off, or picking up can no longer go through security. So, far fewer people at the bars and restaurants. When they rearranged the airport, the cafe, one bar and a couple of coffee shops both lost, if i am remebering this right, 15% of their revenue stream.

I don't travel as much as i used to, but i'm guessing this is similar at a whole lot of airports.

Now, the souvenir shops are probably all owned by the same company, so they probably didn't care if the shops on the "pre" side of security were closed. Hardly anybody just drops someone off and then goes to the souvenir shop.

But, the bars and restaurants probably cared a lot.

I was up here interviewing for my current job and found myself with an extra one of those microwaveable packs of beef stew. "Why not take it back with me?", I thought. Becasue the gravy inside the pack is more than three ounces of liquid, that's why. Never mind that that the pack was sealed at the factory, with printing all over it and everything. Jeez. If it had been chili, I'd probably be in Gitmo by now.

The linked article doesn't say, but unless the agent went in with her and watched the pump being used, simply coming back with full bottles proves nothing about the pump.

This is why I stopped flying whenever there's an alternative. What idiots.
