Made even more so by realizing the kind of people depicted in it aren't consigned to "the past," but rather, are in Congress, running radio talk shows, and more, right now. Today.

(29,414 posts)I've gotten hooked on two BBC shows, Copper, and Ripper Street, and they do an excellent job of depicting the prejudices of those time periods (Copper is 1865 now, and Ripper Street would be during and after the time of Jack the Ripper.)
Of course, I'd also like to see Captain Phillips, and Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs 2
