Ted Cruz: Unsure if he’d block vote on Senate deal

Ted Cruz is waiting to decide whether to hold up a potential deal in the Senate that would reopen the government and avert a breach of the debt ceiling.

With the debt limit deadline looming Thursday and quick Senate action needed to beat it, Cruz would not divulge whether he’d allow a quick vote on an emerging deal to reopen government and raise the debt ceiling. Bypassing Senate rules that would slow the voting process requires the consent of every member of the chamber, which will be critical this week to avoid a panic in the markets over potentially missing the debt ceiling deadline.

“We need to see what the details are,” Cruz said when asked whether he’d move to delay a vote past Thursday.

Cruz deflected more than half a dozen questions from reporters using the wait-and-see line. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Cruz were the leading voices in attempting to defund Obamacare as a condition to keeping the government open, and their consent to move quickly will be paramount in avoiding a breach of the debt ceiling.

I posted two threads yesterday about him doing just that blocking or stalling the vote in the Senate. No way he lets this pass with out getting attention drawn to him.

That whole basement meeting only makes me believe even more that he will attempt his grand standing. Hopefully I am wrong, but even if I am that only means they will retry their terrorist attack at the next battle over the debt ceiling and cr fight.

Cruz and all those crazy followers are a cancer that as invaded this country.

I'm sitting here watching morning blow and they have this conservative matt something and you know what? Him and Joe they don't get it. Oh they get part of it but they totally blow the other part. That guy matt apparently has an oped piece posted some where and he is trying to say the baggers are on fire because they are new and have no patience, trying to make up for lost time, and are not really conservatives because they (the conservatives) believe in smaller gov lower taxes some other 1950'd ideology and are against ObamaCare. Um, um, um, there is no reason to include the anti ObamaCare in their core beliefs. Its the only law they call out by name that would be included in the lower taxes small gov part of their beliefs. I hate to tell them but the real conservatives, well 90% of them are baggers even has they try to distance themselves from the label they can't its because it is who they are.

This is going to get ugly this week. sadly Oct is normally my favorite month of the year. My husbands birthday is the 16th, mine is the 30th, the next day is Halloween, football is getting good, the marching bands are in full swing with competitions, and we sort of start to get fall weather in FL.

No matter if he does really fillibuster or slink quietly into a corner he is going to be nailed from enemies from every side. May he meet the same fate of Joe McCarthy.
