He said he has inside info that the tea party freaks are mad as hell that there going to lose the fight against Obamacare and there next step is articles of impeachment on President Obama. To taint his legacy. He said no one in the media will talk about it and know it's in the works. So here we go again the second President democrat President in a row these regressive rethugs will impeach.Personally my opinion is it won't taint his legacy because history will show it was ALL POLITICAL!! I mean Big Dog was impeached and no one even mentions it hardly.

Some already mentioned that Cruz is the male Sarah Palin, trying to make millions off of the crazy, racist morons that will gladly fork over the money in hopes of getting their version of the "tea party" America they want to see.

(129,013 posts)He was briefly on the radio during the graveyard shift here in Philly on WWDB (96.5 FM, which back then was all talk). He was fired for covering "too many black issues" but was told it was supposedly for commuting from Detroit when doing a show there and also doing his show here (even though they also had conserva-idiot Tom Marr commuting up to Philly from Baltimore every day for a show on the same station while also working at a station in Baltimore).
He was then on WRC for a while (and his show was syndicated here on the black talk station WHAT briefly in the mid-90s). But the most interesting thing about his time on WRC was that his show was positioned in between G. Gordon Liddy's show and Oliver North's show, so he was guaranteed to get the worst of the worst lunatics calling his show to harass him. And he took them down time and time and time again. I only got chance to hear him whenever I traveled down to the D.C. area but then finally found him in 2007 when CSPAN simulcast his XM Radio show (on the channel originally called "The Power" , where he was also being syndicated on Cathy Hughes' station WOL in Baltimore (and she was programming the XM channel). That prompted me to get a subscription to XM (which eventually merged with Sirius to become SiriusXM) and I have listened to him daily ever since. He is on 6:00 am - 10:00 am ET.

(43,049 posts)"high crimes and misdemeanors" was deliberately undefined.
The framers didn't want to say what that meant because they didn't want to limit impeachment to a list in the Constitution. They figured that no matter how they defined it, some President in the future may figure out a way to really fuck up the country in some other, undefined, way.
So, the assumption was that the House wouldn't use it over silliness, but would be able to identify when a president was really screwing up. How wrong they were!
Anyway, should the House actually attempt an impeachment, they'll just make something up-- like they did with Clinton. (They made stuff up for Andrew Johnson, too, but that was right after the Civil War and all sorts of things went crazy then.)

JoDog
(1,353 posts)(the budget ceiling, the shutdown) is an effort to lure Obama into a Constitutional crisis and use that as a basis for articles of impeachment.
The President could make the desperate, last minute move of invoking the 14th Amendment against the debt ceiling (although he has said he would not, it is still an option). That would cause a CC and send the mess to the Supreme Court. Under the Constitution, he also could call the House into session and compel the members to stay there until he releases them...to the point where the sergeant at arms could take House members into custody. That would cause a CC. Minting the trillion-dollar coin also could go into a CC.
SidDithers
(44,228 posts)they'll look like partisan dumbasses for doing it, and it'll never get through the Senate.
If House Republicans pursue impeachment, Democrats will be elected in droves in 2014.

(42,703 posts)Talking impeachment is cheap talk. Hell, filing articles of impeachment is cheap talk. In my lifetime (going back to Eisenhower) there have been (if I've got this right off the top of my head), 11 presidents, 6 repubs (Ike, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II) and five Democrats (JFK, LBJ, Carter, Clinton, and Obama). Articles of impeachment have been filed against five of them, four repubs (Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II). Only two have gotten further than the Judiciary Committee: Nixon and Clinton.
I'm not particularly concerned about some Teabagger filing articles of impeachment.
