Repuke after repuke gets a platform on Washington Journal. Far fewer dems get that opportunity. This morning who do they have on about the crisis in Washington D.C.? Fucking Tim Pawlenty. No dem.

(5,901 posts)What would a Democrat say besides, we want a clean CR and debt limit increase. Obama said he wouldn't compromise on the default threats and wouldn't change the ACA, so what's to say. It's the Republicans who are default deniers and pro shut-down. Let them try to defend that.
All Democrats that is except weird centrists like Erskine Bowles who want the Democrats to cave on entitlements.

(31,706 posts)...it was started by Brian Lamb who made "Fascist Friday" a popular phrase around here during the Iraq invasion days. The "think" tanks flood their shows with "experts"...it's part of the right wing echo machine as the talking points you're hearing this morning will get played on hate radio during the day and onto faux noise this evening...

(129,063 posts)or Steve Sculley doing the moderating, Brian Lamb (the original founder and current chairman, retired) has tilted the tenor of the discussions to the right (including highlighting and continually re-airing RW conferences and panels - e.g., AEI, Hoover, Heritage, etc) and brought in hosts who pander to rethugs. I know since its inception, it was almost all RW callers who would jam all the lines (including the Democratic and Independent lines). But over the past 10 years or so, more liberals have learned the technique and have started fighting back.
HOWEVER, CSPAN's Video Library is excellent, having electronically stored almost all of their programming going back to the '80s for viewing at any time. If anything, that makes them more than worth while - i.e., having the ability to re-watch hearings or interviews or speeches when people have amnesia about what had been said.

I have been a regular viewer of CSPAN since cable finally became available in my neighborhood in Philly (1989) and have followed programs hosted by both Susan and Steve over that time. Considering the revolving door of hosts that they have had, these two have been the most consistent in fairness and not letting ranting RW lunatics go on and on and on, particularly when they hijack a line... and they have done so without the sneering, arrogant and often dismissive demeanor of some of the other hosts.
