First time I heard Rush Hudson Limbaugh he was attacking the disabled

I remember thinking to myself at the time who the fuck is this piece of shit attacking the weakest among us? He was talking about the disabled like they were the dregs of society. Never listened to the piece of shit again.

But he just became more and more popular.

Hard to believe, isn't it?

My first time was when he was attacking some people who, GASP!, wanted to start a Union at their workplace (WalMart). He was saying shit about how they should be greatful to have jobs and may even think about working a week for free.
I got extremely angry, shouted several obscenities at the radio and nearly drove off the road because I was so angry. Right then and there I decided that it just ain't worth getting into a wreck and turned him off forever. Unfortunately, not enough people turn him off.

was when he called Chelsea Clinton "the White House dog." She was all of thirteen years old at the time.

Words like "pathetic" "callous" "unfeeling" "bully"--even "sociopath"--don't seem adequate in this case. That so many people agree with and actually enjoy listening to him is truly frightening.

was when I heard that Limbaugh had called 13 year old Chelsea Clinton a dog.

http://motherjones.com/politics/1995/05/lyin-bully

On his TV show, early in the Clinton administration, Limbaugh put up a picture of Socks, the White House cat, and asked, "Did you know there's a White House dog?" Then he put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton, who was 13 years old at the time and as far as I know had never done any harm to anyone.

I asked my mother how she could listen to someone so hateful & she laughed & said, "You liberals don't have a sense of humor." "I don't think a 40 year old man attacking a 13 year old girl about her looks is humorous." Then I asked her about his feminazi comments & how could she stand by that, remembering how moved she was when Roe v Wade passed. "You need to lighten up," she told me.

It was the beginning of the end for us. I didn't stop talking to her, but she just got more & more right wing & by the time she passed, we only saw each other at Christmas. I'm sure she would be in the tea party if she were alive today.

If I had a dime for every time she told me that liberals have no sense of humor . . .

would you consider reposting this as a question? "When was the first time you heard of Rush Limbaugh?"

I think the answers you'd get would make a very interesting collection of Rush atrocities.

If not, I'll post the question myself, but I don't want to step on your post or be redundant.

Thanks.

and I wondered what kind of a POS would do that. My opinion of him since, has only gotten worse. He lives to hate, imo.

He was background noise for much of the time I lived in SC, but I mostly managed to tune him out. To me, he was like an annoying dog barking in my neighbor's backyard. The only time I remember actually having to listen to what he was saying was when I temped in an office owned by a dittohead for a few days, and one time, the office was too quiet to ignore him like I usually did. He was spouting the usual "scientists can't predict the weather for next Thursday, how can they predict climate change?" denialist bullshit. Offensive on an intellectual level, but probably fairly mild by his standards.

I couldn't believe it when he accused Michael J. Fox of faking his symptoms. There is something very wrong with this man when he attacks the disabled.

People who are taking seriously candidates for president who call you a "snob" for advocating higher learning and refers to Black people as "Blah people" (Santorum), ties his dog to the top of his car during a road trip and thinks that a $10K bet is chump change (Romney), thinks that young children should have jobs when they should be focusing on their schoolwork (Gingrich), and a guy who wants to get us back on the failed Gold Standard, and claims to stand for individual liberty while opposing women's right to get abortions (Paul).
