Looking like republicans maybe have found a way to sneakily delay Obamcare...

How many have read that proposals to open the government will include income verification for Obama care..

At this time time that would not happen ( as I understand it) income verification would be handled by the IRS when taxes are filed... IF the republicans get there way income verification would happen BEFORE you can sign up.. I heard in radio this morning this would slow sign-ups to a crawl. The number 1 goal for republicans is to make sure they can get to the 2014 mid-term elections without having to hear how great Obamacare is working out.. ANYTHING to slow it down and prevent those stories is there #1 goal..

If the income verification impedes sign-ups, it'll be rejected on sight. nt geek tragedy Oct 2013 #2

wishful thinking.

Anyone who has applied for a mortgage or a loan knows EXACTLY how simple income verification is.

The republicans are throwing the teatalibans a bone.

That's all this is.

According to them, the President has said that some kind of income verification is needed anyway. I don't know if they would require a copy of last year's tax return or if they have a simpler way of doing it. If HHS could access IRS computer files to verify income, that would speed up the process considerably, but I don't know if that's legal. They're trying to kill it with death by bureaucracy.
