re: all the talk of adding income verification as part of Senate deal.
What would be the specific, practical method? What would the legislation actually say?
(This is the kind of thing that could be anything from window-dressing to ACA-crippling nightmare depending on the details. Hence the question.)

(68,644 posts)They know damn well that the poorest among us have the greatest difficulty proving anything while those with wealth can just ask a slave to do it for them.
It's just one more reason for universal single-payer, if you ask me.

(5,937 posts)The exact system was not named but it was explained how it worked. The term used was trusted data sources and it appeared to primarily use IRS/Tax data. For example if you are asked what your gross annual income is and the entry you make is a certain percentage off what the IRS shows then you will have to provide more specific data including pay stubs etc. If the entries you make are within acceptable parameters then your information is considered verified. My office will begin taking applications in December. All caseworkes are scheduled for additional training in November for our agencies application software. Our initial training was introductory to the ACA and our public website.

(10,960 posts)be more than that, since your training would have been for current law. (Meaning, if verification is part of a new deal it would be a level of verification that does not currently exist.)
