From the link:

The Emerging House Deal

We told you about the emerging deal in the Senate — now, here’s its House counterpart:
•Funding the government at sequestration levels until January 15
•Raising the debt limit until February 7
•Income verification for recipients of subsidies under Obamacare
•Delay of the medical device tax for 2 years
•A requirement that all members of Congress and members of the cabinet sign up for Obamacare, with no employer contribution
•Ending the ability of the treasury to take ‘extraordinary measures‘ to avoid default in the future

The Senate's Proposal

Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) reportedly came up with a proposal, which McConnelll plans to bring to the Republican caucus this morning at 11 am. Here’s what’s in their deal:
•The government would be funded through January 15th
•The debt ceiling would be extended through February 7th
•The budget cuts known as sequestration remain in place, and January 15 remains deadline for an additional $21 billion in cuts
•Federal agencies get flexibility in how they make the cuts required under sequestration
•A committee would be established to have further talks on budget cuts
•The committee would need to present a proposal by December 13th
•A reinsurance tax that is part of Obamacare would be delayed
•Recipients of subsidies for their insurance under the exchanges established by Obamacare would be subject to income verification

I started as self employed starting Jan 1st. I'll be filing my taxes with a 1099. I don't have any way to verify my income until I get that 1099

I was so happy .... now I am just worried again.

see how all this falls out before worrying. You are not alone...there
has to be some provision to cover the self-employed. Of course, that
would mean someone is acting responsibly in Washington.

There is a better chance of Obama completely defunding the ACA than this.

It's almost like certain people want a default...

This is madness.

Tue Oct 15, 2013, 10:55 AM
Oct 2013

1) The House Deal funds government, has income verification, and then gives Republicans a bunch of BS, and makes sure we have this exact same crisis in the near future, and in facts forces it to happen sooner than it naturally would.

2) The Senate Deal funds government, has income verification, adds some flexibility to sequestration to make it smarter, forces a budget negotiation that MUST produce a compromise by December 13th, taking a major step towards avoiding this in the future, and does not give either side anything in the short term.

Hmmmmmm....which deal should we do? The mind-numbingly idiotic one that guarantees another crisis and pays a ransom to one side, or the one that strongly indicates the avoidance of further crisis and doesn't give anyone anything?

...but the important thing in the Senate is there is a required budget committee consensus in mid-December. The proposal might not actually be enacted after that consensus is reached, but it is an attempt to do something.

This would be the ultimate hostage taking, and Obama and the Senate Dems must tell them to pound sand. You leave, we're done. Finito. No fucking deal.
